ComedySportz Joins the Revolution

ComedySportz Joins the RevolutionPro Wrestling Revolution and ComedySportz have joined forces to make a great tag team. ComedySportz first show as a sponsor will take place on Saturday May 17th at Mount Pleasant High School. ComedySportz will be taking part on all ours shows in the Bay Area! This is more than a sponsorship as Pro Wrestling Revolution will be having wrestlers actually take part in the ComedySportz shows and take their shot at improvisational comedy. Can you imagine that? Stay tuned to our website as we finalize the dates for us to appear at their shows. I am sure that ComedySportz is in for a surprise when they see what we can do on their stage. I know they are all looking for a good laugh, but maybe we can get some of ComedySportz staff to join us on our stage… Stay tuned! What is Comedy Sports?

Unlike “Stand up Comedy” in which one performer tells pre-planned jokes to the audience, improvisational comedy involves a whole group of performers making up scenes and playing games on the spot based on audience suggestions.

A ComedySportz match features two teams of comedy actletes competing for laughs and points, with a referee keeping things moving and calling fouls. An average of seven to twelve games are played during a match, drawn from a repetoire of over a hundred improv games. In “Shakespeare” a team will improvise a scene inspired by an audience suggestion in Shakespearian style. In “Elimination Rap” players will create a rap on the spot, trading off each other’s phrases, getting thrown out if they fall off the meter, fail to rhyme or get too def. In “Forward/Reverse” the referee sends the scene back and forth at will, as though scanning a scene in a VCR, sending the actletes into a frenzy. Every show is different, with different players, different games, and different audiences supplying new suggestions. For more information and to learn about ComedySportz click here

  1. An innovative idea! No wrestling promotion has ever hooked up with something like Comedy Sportz. I would love to see the wrestlers up on the stage doing some improv. This seems like it will benefit both Comedy Sportz & PWR in a positive way for all involved.

PWR continues to impress me with their sudden impact on the wrestling world.

  2. WOW!!! I agree with everything that Jermz said. And to be honest I don’t know what else to say except for Join The Revolution b/c nothing is going to stand in their way.

    iViva La Revolucion!
